Ireland, also known as the Republic of Ireland, is a country located in Northwestern Europe. It occupies most of the island of Ireland, sharing a border to the north with Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom.

Capital: Dublin is the capital and largest city of Ireland. It is located on the eastern coast of the island.

Population: As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, Ireland had a population of approximately 4.9 million people. Please note that population figures may have changed since then.

Official Languages: The official languages of Ireland are Irish (Gaeilge) and English. While Irish is recognized as the first official language, English is more commonly spoken.

The island is known for its lush green landscapes, rolling hills, and rugged coastline. It's also famous for its many lakes and rivers, including the River Shannon, which is the longest river in Ireland and the British Isles.

Government: Ireland is a parliamentary democracy with a president as the head of state and a prime minister (Taoiseach) as the head of government. The political system is a republic, and the president is largely a ceremonial figure.

Currency: The currency used in Ireland is the Euro (€).
